Terms of Service
Last updated: 24 October 2026
By creating an account or redeeming a key, you agree to these terms.
1. The service
Steam Idle Service ("the service", "we") signs in to your Steam account from our server and reports the games you choose as being played, so playtime and trading card drops build up while your own PC is off. You need an account and an active license.
2. Your Steam account and the risks
- Third-party idling may be against the Steam Subscriber Agreement, which does not allow giving others access to your account. Valve may restrict, suspend or ban accounts that use such services.
- You use the service entirely at your own risk. We are not responsible for any action Valve takes against your account, or for lost items, playtime, cards or access.
- Only connect Steam accounts you own. Your Steam password is never stored; the login token can be revoked at any time in Steam (Steam Guard → Authorized devices) or on your Account page.
- One Steam account can be linked to one account here. Connecting a Steam account that is already linked to another account closes the new account.
3. Licenses and free trial
- A key adds its time when redeemed. Time runs continuously, whether you use it or not, unless you pause it on your Account page.
- The free trial is once per Steam account. Making extra accounts for more trials is not allowed.
- Keys belong to the account they are redeemed on, can't be transferred, and aren't refunded once redeemed, except where the law requires it.
4. How long the service runs
The service runs for as long as we operate it. Lifetime licenses last for the lifetime of the service, not of you or your Steam account. If we close the service for good, we will announce it on this site and in our Discord server at least 14 days in advance and stop selling keys. Unused paid time is refunded only where the law requires it.
5. Acceptable use
Don't abuse, overload or try to break into the service, share your account, resell access, or use it for anything illegal. Accounts that break these terms may be suspended or closed and can lose their remaining license time.
6. Availability
The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without guaranteed uptime or results. Maintenance, internet or power outages, or changes made by Steam can interrupt it. Right now, downtime of 1 minute or more is added back to active licenses automatically; see the status page.
7. Inactive accounts
Accounts with no sign-in and no active license for 12 months are deleted automatically, together with their data. You can delete your account yourself at any time on the Account page.
8. Liability
To the extent the law allows, our total liability is limited to what you paid for the license in question.
9. Not affiliated with Valve
Steam and the Steam logo are trademarks of Valve Corporation. This service is not affiliated with, endorsed or sponsored by Valve.
10. Changes
We may update these terms. Changes are posted on this page and in our Discord server. Using the service after a change means you accept the new terms.
